Heading into the workweek with rain and storm chances

Scattered showers and thunderstorm chances higher Monday and Thursday this week. Severe potential is lower this week.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — A storm system sweeping east across Kansas today is kicking up scattered showers and thunderstorms from Oklahoma to Arkansas. Not everyone around 5COUNTRY will get rain Monday. Isolated to scattered shower activity is likely early to midmorning and again late afternoon into the early evening hours.

A few stronger thunderstorms will be possible this afternoon. Severe storm chances are low today, though a few strong wind gusts and pockets of hail can't be ruled out.

THUNDERSTORM CHANCES MONDAY

A rain chance can't be ruled out throughout the day, though there are a few times those chances are higher. Scattered showers and thunderstorm chances are higher early to midmorning and then again late afternoon into the early evening hours.

Overall, the chances of any severe weather are on the lower end. We're watching for a few storms capable of producing strong wind gusts and pockets of damaging hail. Not everyone will see rainfall, as this system looks to be isolated to scattered at best.
